The sound of broken hearts reverberated all over the world last May 11 when Ryan Gosling stepped out in the streets of New York City hands held with Eva Mendes.

While followers of Eva are celebrating the couple's reunion, fans of Ryan Gosling are crying out foul. Though there is no one who can dictate the personal life of the actor, many of his fans think he should continue searching.

Here is a list of women Gosling should date - if chances do arise.

Everyone had fallen in love with the film adaptation of "The Notebook". The onscreen chemistry between Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams was so believable that when both stars announced their relationship, the industry applauded with delight.

Ryan and Rachel's kiss during the 2005 MTV Awards was dubbed the best - both on the film and on the stage. Unfortunately in 2007, the lovebirds called it quits. Yet, if other celebrities manage to work it out then Ryan and Rachel could definitely go for a second round.

While Eva Mendes enjoyed her Disney Date with Ryan Gosling, a few other women also did before her. These include "Two Broke Girls" star, Kat Dennings, and "Gossip Girl" lead, Blake Lively. Rumors have said that Ryan had dated Kat for a short period of time in 2009. A year later, Ryan brought another date to Disneyland and it was none other than Blake Lively.

Though Blake and Kat were simply flings, nothing would compare to Ryan's two true loves. One being Rachel McAdams and the other being Sandra Bullock. Ryan had dated Bullock from 2002 until 2003.

The chances of exes getting back together in Hollywood are quite slim. Now, if there were other actresses worthy enough to be Ryan Gosling's girlfriend, then Emma Stone could be one.

Ryan and Emma's flame on "Crazy Stupid Love" was genuine, that both stars are paired again in their latest flick "Gangster Squad". Too bad, Emma Stone appears to be head over heels for Andrew Garfield.

Blonde bombshell, Amanda Seyfried and brunette beauty, Alexis Bledel, also count as potential Gosling girlfriends.

Ryan's love interest in "Drive", Carey Mulligan could also be another potential girlfriend. Though it would be remotely impossible, Carey is already engaged with Marcus Mumford of Mumford and Sons. If Natalie Portman was single, the Oscar award winning actress could also be the perfect match for Ryan Gosling.

However, if it comes to single women, Michelle Williams could just be it. Then again, fans of Ryan Gosling can only imagine.
