Back to the Bay reports that Alf breaks down with the thought of losing his son for good. Meanwhile, Hunter and Olivia are able to set aside their differences, much to Tabitha’s dismay. While Summer Bay celebrates the rescue of some plane crash victims, they still fear for those who are still missing. Refusing to give up, Justin makes a risky move on his own in his efforts to save other lives.
Seven Network posted a sneak peek of the Aug.24 episode. In the trailer, Evie, Leah and Irene scream and jump around as a helicopter hovers above them. It seems they are finally rescued, going straight to the hospital. Evie tells Mason that she felt Oscar was watching over her, which is the reason why they survived a plane crash and an explosion.
Meanwhile, Billie still fears for her baby since she hasn’t felt it since the crash. “It’s not moving,” she cries to VJ. Justin and Alf, on the other hand, are distraught to discover that Brody, Tori, Duncan and Nate are still out there. “No one knows if Brody is alive,” Justin confirms with Irene. “They haven’t seen him since the crash?” Alf is extremely worried for Duncan, knowing that it’s nearly been two days since they went missing and the chances of their survival is getting smaller and smaller. Taking matters to his own hands, Justin heads out to search for the others.
“Home and Away” recap
On Tuesday, Justin and Ash scoured the forest to look for the plane and its passengers. Back at Summer Bay, their loved ones struggle to cope with anxiety and fear. Amid the tense situation, Justin and Ash ran into a conflict. Their argument was cut short, however, when the police informed them of the plane’s possible location. They rushed to the direction provided.
Meanwhile, the crash victims tried their best to seek help, including using flare guns. Leah also took charge of dividing their food to make sure they have enough, while Irene kept attempting to reach out to someone through the radio. Everyone seemed to feel a bit better compared to yesterday, except Billie, who complained that something may be wrong with her unborn baby.
Mason tended to Billie and reckoned that she might have torn in the sac. He recommended transferring Billie to a more stable location where she could lie down with minimal movement. Leah pulled Mason aside and he informed her that Billie’s condition might lead to premature labour. When Billie heard this dreadful possibility, she was reduced to tears and Leah tried to comfort her.
Billie moved inside the plane, where the others set comfortable bedding for her. She almost came clean to Leah about who the real father of her baby was, but an unfortunate thing happened. The wood they used to prop the plane up broke, making the plane drop to the ground. Billie, who’s not supposed to move even slightly, rolled inside the cabin. Leah and Billie found themselves trapped inside the plane. Worse, Evie and Irene smelled petrol and found that the fuel tank was damaged, causing the oil leak. For a few minutes, it was a panic-filled situation as Leah and Mason tried to break the plane’s window, while Irene attempted to stop the oil leak and Evie put out the fire.
The window finally shattered down and Leah and Billie exited the plane to safety. Mason pulled Evie just as the plane exploded. However, it was unclear whether Irene was able to escape.
