"Home and Away" recap

On Monday, Nate struggled to deal with an empty nest, now that Ricky and Casey are gone. He morosely uninstalled Casey’s crib. Later, at the hospital, he and Tori had another friendly banter. Tori then saw some of their colleagues looking at them funnily. One of the nurses teased her about leaving the office party together, and when Tori said she took Nate home, it was interpreted in another way. Despite insisting that nothing happened, it looked like her co-worker didn’t buy Tori’s story. Later, when Tori confronted her about it, the nurse told her that according to rumours, Tori’s the reason why Nate and Ricky split. Tori said that their separation had nothing to do with her, and warned that she doesn’t want to hear anything like that anymore.

Back at the hospital, Tori shared this information with Nate, who wasted no time in ending the rumour. He called the attention of their colleagues and set the record straight. “My relationship with Ricky ended because of long-standing issues between us, issues that had nothing to do with Tori,” he said. Tori was surprised by his move, but appreciated what he did.

Elsewhere, Hunter was reading the news about Andy when Olivia arrived. She talked about Irene’s weird behaviour and suggested going to the police. While Olivia was babbling on, Hunter was obviously not listening, as he’s absorbed about his mum’s murder. Later, Hunter had flashbacks about Charlotte, and he vented his anger and grief on a punching bag. At home, Olivia dropped by and started going on about Irene once again. However, Hunter dismissed her, to her annoyance. She went to Chris at the restaurant, who was elated when he received an e-mail from Irene saying that she’s alright.

In her e-mail, Irene apologised for not contacting them for weeks, citing the dodgy reception. She also admitted that she fell off the wagon again and she’s trying to isolate herself to get better. Irene said she’s doing okay with her son. While Olivia still didn’t look convinced, she got distracted when Chris showed her the news about Andy. She rushed to see Hunter and finally understood why Hunter was behaving that way. Hunter admitted that he’s so angry at Andy – he trusted him and thought Andy was a good guy. “I want him to pay for what he did,” Hunter vowed.

At Angelo’s, Alf talked to Chris and Tori about his boat, which he plans to take out that day. She asked if he could use some help, and volunteered her brother Justin, who’s a qualified mechanic. While he was reluctant at first, he relented and agreed with Tori. When she shared this with Justin, he wasn’t exactly jumping for joy. He turned up late and received an earful from Alf, who showed him he’s no ordinary old guy. Once they’re in the waters, the two warmed up to each other. The boat then suddenly lurched and stopped in the middle of the sea, and Justin tried to fix it.

As Justin was tinkering with the boat’s machine, he noticed that Alf didn’t look okay. A few moments later, Alf groaned in pain, clutching his chest. Justin tried to call for help using the radio, but there’s no response. He asked Alf, who’s clearly having a heart attack, whether he has any medication. When Alf couldn’t respond, Justin was forced to swim across the waters and get to the shore for help.
