Back to the Bay reports that Thursday’s episode also centres on Phoebe, as her friend Donna refuses to give up on her friend’s music career. In Seven Network’s sneak peek of the March 30 episode, Phoebe and Justin gather their loved ones for their engagement party. As she promised Donna, Phoebe performed a song. Meanwhile, Donna told Justin that she hates to see her friend turn her back on her dreams.
Speaking of Justin, the trailer also shows him confronting Brody about yelling at Raffy. Brody explains his side but can’t look Justin in the eye, making the older Morgan suspicious that he’s using drugs again.
'Home and Away' recap
In the previous episode, VJ confronted Zac about cheating on Leah and was upset when he learned that it happened after Billie’s funeral. VJ then called his mum to offer her comfort. The next day, he told Hunter what Zac did and the two were equally furious. Hunter wasted no time lashing out at his dad for breaking Leah’s heart and for ruining their lives. Later, VJ decided to move out of their house but ended up kicking Zac out of the house.
Meanwhile, Phoebe was disheartened to hear that her friends – and some of her neighbours – can’t make it to her engagement party. She was immediately cheered up when her friend, Donna, arrived at the Bay. However, as the two caught up with their present lives, Donna questioned Phoebe’s decisions, particularly abandoning her music career and settling as a mechanic’s housewife. Upset, Phoebe told Donna that she doesn’t have to come to the engagement party. Later, Donna apologised for stepping out of line and the two friends made up.
Irene, on the other hand, was shocked when she saw a man named “James” calling Roo’s phone. Irene assumed it was Roo’s ex, but the latter clarified it’s a different one. When Irene asked who it was, Roo said and it was her real estate agent. However, Irene remained suspicious, especially after noticing that Roo was acting cagey like she’s hiding something. That afternoon, James arrived, making her so happy. He appeared to be Roo’s new love interest – she gave him a passionate kiss to welcome him at her home.
Elsewhere, Marilyn and John didn’t exactly hit it off with the lawyer assigned to handle his case. She observed that the lawyer wasn’t particularly keen on helping her husband. The lawyer advised John to plead insanity for their defence but he wasn’t happy about lying to court. Roo couldn’t help but overhear the whole thing, making her call someone and saying, “We have a problem.” Later, Morag arrived in town and asked him if he needs her help.
