The writing team of "Homeland" is currently planning Season 4. The new season will be different and the story-line is likely to take a different route, with Claire Danes.

David Nevins, president of entertainment at Showtime, revealed at the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour that viewers will finally get to see Carrie working as a field operative in a foreign territory, which will be a capital.

"I know that this is fundamentally a show about a field operative and we haven't really seen her, with the exception of the very beginning of season 1 and the very end of season 3, we haven't seen her out in the field operating," said Nevins, as quoted by Buddy TV.

According to Nevins, it is going to be a different new season. He added that the audience will see a different kind of story with Claire Danes. However, he said that he is not aware if this different kind of story will be for a season or two seasons.

Mandy Patinkin, who plays the role of Saul, is not going anywhere. Nevins indicated that Saul will very much be "central" to the story-line despite Carrie becoming a field operative in a foreign capital. Saul is all set to play a larger role.

Nevins further revealed that "Homeland" was Showtime's best viewed show, as it became the first series ever to reach 7 million viewers a week mark which was dubbed as a real milestone for them.

Alex Gansa, showrunner of Homeland, had said to TV Line that there is a romantic energy between Carrie and Quinn scene though it is at a "very nascent state." Since Carrie's emotions are invested somewhere else, it is not yet certain how she feels about Quinn.

"I think it's pretty clear how he feels about her. But whether Carrie Mathison is going to be emotionally available for a romantic entanglement is another question entirely," said Gansa.
