Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) is back in New York. While this initially implied a series of exciting things to come in Carrie’s life, things started going to hell immediately. The only thing noticeably different is that the suffering has already begun for Peter Quinn (Rupert Friend) and now he has to go figure out how to get out of this situation, given his transformation.
Spoiler alert! This article contains “Homeland” spoilers. Read on if you would like to know what happens before the next episode airs.
Previously, viewers saw how Carrie confronted Ray Conlin (Dominic Fumusa) about how things are going to be handled as the case develops against Sekou (J. Mallory McCree). Conlin was all defensive while Carrie pushes that all her client’s actions were constitutionally protected by free speech.
This next episode, titled “Covenant,” highlights Carrie’s uphill battle against American Muslim oppression. She continues despite the outcome not having any clear direction or outcome at all.
The official synopsis reveals that Saul will be going to Abu Dhabi. Carrie will be on the delivering end of some bad news. Meanwhile, Quinn will sense that something’s not right. As usual, the vague synopsis just ignites intrigue for what is to come in this upcoming episode.
The official promo shows Carrie getting criticised by going too far to help her client. This also means a lot of trouble for both of them, as people from the other side step in and does what they are expected to do. As for Saul, he is sent to Abu Dhabi to deal with issues about WMDs and work on a peace treaty. None of this looks easy for him since he is out there while Dar Adal (F. Murray Abraham) is already back home.
This episode of “Homeland” will air at 9 p.m. on January 29 on Showtime in the US. It will also air on Channel TEN in Australia.
