Sony's Xperia i1 Honami smartphone started making headlines months ago when the company announced its 20MP camera and slim design. This time, reports point to a leak featuring the actual design of the smartphone including how the 20MP will look like.

Chinese Website Sina Weibo released images of what appears to be Sony's upcoming Honami phone. The images show a sleek device looking much like Sony's previously released phones. Nonetheless, despite the similarities in design and appearance, the new Xperia i1 boasts excellent features.

For starters, the phone will be running on a 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor. It will also have a 5-inch full HD 1080p display. Other reported features include a high-end 1/2.3-inch ExmorRS sensor, 20MP camera rear camera, 2MP front camera, 2GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage, 3,000 mAh battery and a microSD slot. It was also highlighted that Honami will be both water and dust proof.

Analysts expect Sony to announce the full and official details of the Xperia i1 on September 4 during the IFA trade show in Berlin. See image for the leaked photo of the device. Along with the hype over the Honami, many observers point out the upcoming rivalry with Sony's Honami, Nokia's Lumia 1020 and the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom.

Nokia Lumia 1020

The Lumia 1020 is available in three colors: black, white and yellow. The phone's coating and matte finish makes the phone dirt and fingerprint-resistant. The handset only weighs 158g. It is 10.4mm thick and 0.6mm wider. Users of Lumia 920 will find using the 1020 is just similar. For first timers, it should not be a problem as well.

A 3.5mm headphone jack along with a micro-SIM tray can be found on top of the device. At the bottom, users can find the power button, volume rocker and all aluminum hardware shutter key. The 1020 differentiates itself from the 920 through the speaker griller and the micro-USB port. The phone includes a 4.5-inch WXGA display and 1.2 MP wide-angle front camera. The Lumia 1020 offers 32GB of internal storage, 1,280 x 768 resolution and AMOLED "PureMotion HD+" panel.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom

Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom shoots impressively at 16 megapixels. It features a larger sensor compared to the Lumia 1020. It is also easier to shift to full-resolution output with this device. The Zoom provides up to 10x optical zoom which beats Lumia's but will find a rival through Honami. Samsung included mutual controls in the zoom allowing users to access the Expert mode. For avid and casual photographers, there are also other mode options like the macro, mode and landscape. Zoom runs on 1.5GHz dual-core Pega-Dual +XMM6262 offering 8GB internal storage.

Belonging to a similar category, it will be a battle of smartphones for Sony, Nokia and Samsung. Which phone will dominate?
