New Orleans' All Star guard, Chris Paul will not be playing on Monday’s game after suffering from concussion when his head fell flat to the floor on Sunday game.

According to Reuters, during the third quarter of the game between Hornet and Cavaliers, Paul lost control of his dribble when he drove the lane and he landed on his head when he attempted to retrieve the ball.

This followed when his forehead collided with Cavaliers guard, Ramon Sessions shoulders. Paul was then carried out of the court in a stretcher, complaining of neck pain.

Hornets head coach, Monty Williams could not believe his eyes when he saw Paul’s fall, saying it is not Chris as the one ‘to lay down’.

But the incident has brought a whole new different perspective on the head coach.

“To see him flat on the floor like that, you just forget about basketball for a minute and start thinking about him as a person, his fiancée and his kid,” Williams told reporters, according to Reuters.

A brace was then placed around his neck by the training staff from both teams. Reuters noted that Paul did not lose consciousness but the doctors who examined him at the hospital confirmed that the All Star guard has suffered from concussion.

Though the basketball player joined his team for its flight to Chicago after the game, he will not be joining them when the team plays on Monday. Paul’s New Orlean’s Hornets flew to Chicago with 96-81 win over Cleveland’s Cavaliers.
