How Adriana Lima Gets Her Victoria’s Secret Body
Although Adriana may appear to be naturally blessed with her gorgeous figure, the model admits that it takes a lot of work to achieve it.
The annual "Victoria's Secret Fashion Show" will be staged on Nov. 9 and will be aired exclusive to CBS on Nov. 29.
Models who will walk the runway go into preparation weeks and months before the show. Adriana Lima, one of the crowd favorites and one of Victoria's Secret top model shares her rigorous work out to achieve that glorious body. The Brazilian beauty works out twice a day and swears by protein shake diets made of powdered egg.
She was spotted days before the show working out in a Miami gym doing some boxing. Lima drinks a gallon of water per day during her work out sessions and limits herself to no water or liquid 12 hours before the show.
"No liquids at all so you dry out, sometimes you can lose up to eight pounds just from that," Adriana told the Telegraph.
The model has spent hours in the gym since August and leveled up to two times a day three weeks before the show. For 9 days prior to the show, she will refrain from eating solid foods.
"It is really intense, it's not really the amount of time you spend working out, it's the intensity. I jump rope, I do boxing, I lift weights, but I get bored doing that," the model admits. "If I am not moving I get bored very easily."
Lima also admits that she considers the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show the highlight of her life.
"Becoming an Angel, once I achieved that, it was a dream-come-true for me. And I know that after all this is done, when I sit down with my daughter one day we are going to look back and it's going to be very special," Adriana said.
