The death of singer Amy Winehouse shocked fans, music industry leaders, and jazz enthusiasts all over the world; and to celebrate her short life, fans pay tribute to the fallen talent.

Amy Winehouse broke out as one of the best vocal talents that ever surfaced in the contemporary music industry. Armed with a deep passion for jazz music, Winehouse debuted in 2003 with the album "Frank" that gained her a platinum-selling artist reputation. Although acclaimed as a skilled vocal performer, Winehouse met utmost fame and recognition in 2006 with his sophomore record "Back to Black", which featured some of her most memorable songs to date, including the hit "Rehab". Unfortunately, her Grammy-winning career was cut short when the singer was found dead

Winehouse died on July 23 in her London home, for "unexplained" reasons. Fans and music critics suggest that the singer's very public battle with alcoholism and drug addiction is the reason for the untimely death. Winehouse checked in and out of rehabilitation clinics all over London, and was even labeled as an "outpatient" so she can continue her European tour. Just last June, Winehouse performed in Belgrade, Serbia and appeared "drunk" onstage, with 20,000 fans booing her off. After the Serbia performance mishap, the singer's representative announced that Winehouse will be cancelling the rest of her European tour.

After the news of her death broke out, fans and mourners line up to place tributes and flowers in front of Winehouse's London apartment. The singer, who died at age 27, is the latest addition to the "27 club", a group of musicians who died at age 27 due to drug abuse, suicide and alcoholism. Other "27 club" members include Jimi Hendrix, Nirvana front man Kurt Cobain, Janis Joplin, and The Rolling Stones guitarist Brian Jones.
