‘How To Get Away With Murder’ Season 2 casting news: ‘X-Men’ actress Famke Janssen to appear in multi-episode arc

The latest casting news on “How To Get Away With Murder” (“HTGAWM”) Season 2 revealed that “X-Men” star Famke Janssen will be joining ABC’s legal drama series as a new recurring character. Janssen is set to make her debut appearance in the premiere episode of the second season titled “It’s Time to Move On” on Thursday night, Sept. 24, at 10/9c on ABC.

TVLine exclusively reports that Famke Janssen, 50, has been added to the “HTGAWM” Season 2 cast for a multi-episode arc. However, ABC Studios remain tight-lipped on the details of Janssen’s recurring character in the legal drama series.

Janssen, who starred in the “X-Men” films and appeared in the TV series “Nip/Tuck” and “Hemlock Grove,” is speculated to portray a brilliant, respected defense attorney who takes her career very seriously. “HTGAWM” also shared the exciting casting news on their official Facebook page with the link to TV Line’s report.

“Look out, Famke Janssen is joining ‪#‎HTGAWM!” the post, which was shared on Saturday, reads. Entertainment Weekly (EW) reports that Janssen’s debut appearance will be on the episode that reveals Rebecca Sutter’s killer.

In the finale episode of “HTGAWM” Season 1, someone murdered Rebecca Sutter, played by Katie Findlay, in the basement of Annalise Keating’s home/office. Rebecca was the girlfriend of Wes Gibbins, played by Alfred Enoch, and the suspect in Lila Stangard’s murder.

EW exclusively reports that the viewers of the show will finally find out who ended Rebecca’s life in the premiere episode of “HTGAWM” Season 2. Annalise Keating, played by Viola Davis, and Annalise’s employee Frank Delfino, played by Charlie Weber, have confirmed in the ending scene of the first season that they had nothing to do with Rebecca’s death after finding her dead body under the basement stairs.

If Annalise and Frank did not kill Rebecca, the other “HTGAWM” characters are now the prime suspects in Rebecca’s murder. The killer could be Wes, Rebecca’s boyfriend, Annalise’s associate attorney Bonnie Winterbottom, played by Liza Weil or the other students in Annalise’s class namely Connor Walsh, Michaela Pratt, Asher Millstone and Laurel Castillo, who are members of the “Keating Five.”
