'How to Get Away With Murder' season 2 spoilers: Series creator Peter Nowalk teases 'Keating Five' backstories in new season

Interesting storylines will continue to unfold in “How to Get Away with Murder,” or" HTGAWM,” Season 2. Series creator Peter Nowalk hinted in an interview at the 2015 Television Critics Association, or TCA, summer press tour that the upcoming season will feature the backstories of the "Keating Five” members. “How to Get Away with Murder” Season 2 episode 1, titled “It’s Time to Move On,” is scheduled to premiere on Thursday night, September 24, at 10/9c on ABC. [Spoiler Alert!]
The “Keating Five” members are currently the prime suspects in the shocking twist that happened in the pilot season’s finale episode. Professor and defense attorney Annalise Keating, played by Viola Davis, and her employee Frank Delfino, played by Charlie Weber, found out that someone killed their client Rebecca Sutter, played by Katie Findlay, in the basement of Annalise’s home/office.
Nowalk admitted at the 2015 TCA that the legal drama series’ new season will reveal how the “Keating Five” met each other. “You think you know these people in the show, but you don’t know them at all,” Nowalk said, according to a report from Zap2it.
Annalise and Frank admitted to each other in the finale that they had nothing to do with Rebecca’s death. The shocking story twist suggests Rebecca’s killer could be one of the “Keating Five” members or Annalise’s associate attorney, Bonnie Winterbottom, played by Liza Weil.
Annalise Keating dubbed the five students she picked as interns in her firm as the “Keating Five.” The top students that Annalise selected in her class at Middleton University include Wes Gibbins, played by Alfred Enoch, Laurel Castillo, played by Karla Souza, Michaela Pratt, played by Aja Naomi King, Connor Walsh, played by Jack Falahee and Asher Millstone, played by Matt McGorry.
“The big question for Annalise starting the season — it’s about a week after where we left off, when Rebecca is dead — is what has she wrought?” Nowalk shared. The series creator further teased that there will be a lot more complications for the “HTGAWM,” characters which will stem from the death of Annalise’s cheating husband, Sam Keating, played by Tom Verica.
