How I Met Your Mother Season 8 should move forward to the wedding of Robin and Barney. One does not have to be a Robin-Barney shipper to see that this couple should stop going in circles at this point in the series.

A ninth season has already been arranged for HIMYM. And it is not likely that this CBS sitcom would have a tenth season. (Jason Segel was already reluctant to come on board for Season 9.) Naturally, fans want only the best from the final episodes of the legen - wait for it - dary comedy series.

5. It's Supposed to be about the Mother. The Robin-Barney engagement is as significant to Ted's life as the opening of the new GNB headquarters. Barney wouldn't have proposed if Ted had not given him a very clear "blessing." By letting go, Ted discovers he is truly ready to meet "the one." Now it's time for more 'mother' story arcs to develop.

4. Enough Ups and Downs, Ons and Offs. It's been shown in the Season 8 premiere that Robin and Barney would have some serious wedding jitters on the day of their wedding. (It is not clear whether a wedding has happened before Ted was seen at the train station.) But this couple has had way too many stops and starts. The sooner they wed, the better for Ted's own story arcs.

3. A Peek Into the Robin-Barney Married Life. HIMYM fans have seen Marshall and Lily interact with each other as husband and wife. There have been funny moments with their in-laws, too. Showing a different comedy in the Stinson-Scherbatsky home would be great. Imagine Barney coming face-to-face with Robin's dad.

2. Robin's No-Child Reality. Fans would like to know how Robin and Barney come to terms with the fact that Robin can't bear a child. Will they adopt a child? How will they go through it?

1. Ted Meets 'Mother' in the Wedding. Ted has said a few times that he would not have met his children's mother if not for a wedding. The details, of course, remain to be seen. Enough anticipation has built up, it's time for "what happens next after the jitters."
