How I Met Your Mother Season 8 Ep 13: Ted Plans Wedding, Meets Mother in the Process?

How I Met Your Mother returns to CBS on Jan. 14 with Season 8's 13^th episode called, "Band or DJ?" This episode comes after a game-changing 1-hr mid-season finale a month ago.

HIMYM: Ted Mosby and Regrets

A TV.com synopsis says the next HIMYM episode is still focused on Robin and Barney. But this time, Ted will have some time to process what's going on. And so he is expected to react the typical Ted Mosby way - sensitive, dramatic, emotional. But something (or someone) could happen as he plans his best friends' wedding.

"Robin insists that Barney ask her dad for permission to marry her; Ted tries to bury his feelings by throwing himself into wedding planning," reads the synopsis.

If there's a wedding band, would Ted meet the mother soon?

There are two interesting puzzle pieces from the season premiere and the next HIMYM promos and teasers. One, Ted might consider a band for the wedding he's planning. Two, the mother is (or at least she seems to be) a part of a band. In the season premiere, the mother with the yellow umbrella is seen getting off a cab with a guitar. Could she be a part of the wedding band for the Robin-Barney wedding?

Ted has often said he met his children's mother at a wedding. But viewers have yet to find out how, exactly. (The guessing game is on.)

Will Ted regret giving his blessing to Robin and Barney?

In the last HIMYM episode, Ted has not had the time to really absorb what has been going on. Soon, Ted will be the only single guy in the group. He is likely to torment himself with regret for giving away his "true love." Hopefully, the series will move on quickly from that point. With only 12 episodes left this season, viewers hope for only the best from the HIMYM writers.
