How I Met Your Mother Season 8 spoilers are up again. This time, though, the fresh developments are more like teasers, especially for the followers of the Robin-Barney love story on the series.

Fairly Legal's Michael Trucco is returning to the HIMYM set almost two years since he appeared in a single flashback-laden episode.

(Spoiler alert) Do you remember Robin's "crush" from Season 6? Here's what happened:

- Barney wants to show his father that the club scene is where life gets exciting
- Barney assigns Ted, Robin, Marshall and Lily "cool" personalities to make his point to his father
- Ted and Robin are supposed to be dating, Marsall and Lily are in an "open marriage"
- The gang goes to "Hopeless" bar
- Robin spots her crush, she tells Lilly she last saw him in a department store years ago
- Ted discovers one of his best sex nights with Robin was inspired by her crush
- To annoy Robin, Ted makes it look like Robin has said yes to his wedding proposal at the scene
- Crush appears to be crushed (pun intended) by the news
- Robin later tells Lily she is probably not supposed to hit it off with her crush
- Crush walks by the gang's apartment moments later, telling a friend over the phone, "That's the end of that."
- Ted tells his kids it was not the end...

Fast forward to Season 8 (Spoiler alert)

HIMYM fans did not see "Crush" again the entire Season 7. Instead, Robin started dating her former shrink. He proposed, she let him absorb the fact that she does not want to have kids, ever.

Meanwhile, "Crush" starred at USA's "Fairly Legal" and was unable to return to the CBS set. There are assumptions that Trucco is getting written off in the series, but fans are not supposed to be too excited.

HIMYM already showed at the Season 7 finale that Barney and Robin are getting married "little ways down the road." However, as messed up as they are, they will not get there so fast.

In fact, Season 8 is going to begin while Barney is still engaged with someone else.

Meanwhile, a ninth season is slowly becoming a real possibility for the hit sitcom. Initial talks are underway between producers and cast for a possible extenstion or renewal of contract, which is about to end next year. Fingers crossed, HIMYM fans!
