"How I Met Your Mother" Season 8 finale is about a very important wedding. Avid viewers of the hit CBS comedy know this much. We know that it will be different from the Lily-Marshall wedding in Season 2. And we hope it will not be even remotely like the Ted-Stella non-wedding in Season 4. Next week's HIMYM episode, "Romeward Bound," ushers in the final three episodes of the season. The characters will be talking Rome. Viewers can expect the remainder of the season will be all about love -- and the choices that lovers make.

On TV.com, HIMYM Season 8, Episode 21 ("Romeward Bound") is summarized as follows:

"The Captain asks Lily to relocate to Rome for a year to work as his art consultant, but she is afraid Marshall will resent her if she agrees. Ted and Barney notice a beautiful woman wearing a puffy coat and become obsessed with finding out what she's hiding."

This "How I Met Your Mother" gist seems to suggest Lily actually wants to fly to Rome. And Marshall, whether Lily admits it or not, is holding her back. There seems to be nothing about the Robin-Barney front. But we expect that beautiful woman in puffy coat will bring in the comedy to balance what seems to be a lightly serious HIMYM episode. We're talking about a rare opportunity for a married new mom. Are we in for a bit of a Lily-Marshall distance again?

The final three episodes of this HIMYM season are understood to be centered on Barney and Robin. We've got "The Bro Mitzvah," "Something Old," and "Something New." The first could pertain to Barney's stag party. The last two episodes are expected to set the tone for the next and final season of How I Met Your Mother (Season 9). Many HIMYM fans are betting we won't see the full wedding in this year's finale. Do you think so, too? And more important, do you think we'll meet the mother in the Season 8 finale?
