"How I Met Your Mother" Season 8 is on a short break this week, but it will return to U.S. television Monday night with "The Autumn of Breakups."

Ted Mosby has revealed that three break ups will happen "within a month." The first one already took place, as Quinn and Barney realized they don't trust each other enough to get married.

By Episode 6, "Splitsville," it is possible that Ted, Barney and Robin are all single again. But early spoilers have revealed that Barney and Robin don't reunite right away. It looks like there will be some transition relationships ahead. Ted, meanwhile, is more ready than ever to meet the "mother."

October is break-up month, one-fourth of Season 8 soon over

"How I Met Your Mother" creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas have revealed that October is HIMYM's break up month. It's a shame that Victoria and Nick will leave so soon. Their presence has been underwhelming, even as their appearances were hyped up during season break.

Episode 6 marks one-fourth of the entire season. There is still no solid news on a ninth season. Is it possible that the series is now on a fast track to a finale?

It looks like avid viewers will soon find out who the "mother" is, and how things turned out during Barney's and Robin's wedding day.
