How I Met Your Mother Season 9: Actress Cristin Milioti Confirmed to Portray 'The Mother' [PHOTOS]

Ted Mosby is just a couple of steps away from finally meeting and falling in-love with the right girl or "The Mother" in the upcoming "How I Met Your Mother" Season 9. A CBS rep has confirmed to the Hollywood Reporter that actress Cristin Milioti, initially identified as "The Girl with the Yellow Umbrella" will be portraying the soon-to-be Mrs Mosby in the TV series' final season.

Cristin Milioti, 27, is known for her impressive performance on the stage production "Once" which earned her a Tony Award nomination for Best Actress in a Musical. Her other TV appearances include the recurring role of Catherine Sacramoni in "The Sopranos" from 2006 to 2007 and the character Abby Flynn in the "30 Rock" episode titled "TGS Hates Women" back in 2011.

According to the TVLine report last May, Ms Milioti will join the show's cast members as a regular instead of a special guest reappearing in the TV series episodes. "How I Met Your Mother" co-creator Carter Bays revealed that the fans will get acquainted with Cristin Milioti's character, where she plays the bass in Barney and Robin's wedding band, as the final season story focuses on the "longest wedding weekend ever."

Craig Thomas and Carter Bays, the creators and executive producers of the show, previously divulged that actor Josh Radnor, who portrays Ted Mosby, will officially meet "The Girl with the Yellow Umbrella" after the wedding ceremony. "In our season premiere, one of our characters meets the mother and it was one of the coolest scenes to shoot. Someone - not Ted, poor b*****d, he has to wait a while - but seeing one of our characters meet the mother and have chemistry with her too, it makes us even more excited for Ted to get to meet her," Craig Thomas revealed.

"How I Met Your Mother" Season 9 continues to unfold more details to the excited viewers like the other episode titles leaked on the Internet. The latest episode titles scoop on the TV comedy series came from Spoiler TV which got hold of the new information through Foxfast.com where Episode 8 is called "The Lighthouse," Episode 9 is titled "Mom and Dad" and Episode 11 will be "Rehearsal Dinner" while Episode 10 remains mysterious."

Officially introducing and welcoming Cristin Milioti as part of the HIMYM Season 9 family is expected to make the TV series more exciting and different compared to the previous episodes during its final run from 2013 to 2014. The successful CBS comedy series is scheduled to an hour-long premiere on September 23.
