'How I Met Your Mother' Season 9: 'Breaking Bad' Actor Byran Cranston to Guest Star Reprising His Role as Ted Mosby's Boss [PHOTOS]
"How I Met Your Mother" fans will see another familiar face returning for a guest appearance in the CBS sitcom's ninth and final season. "Breaking Bad" actor Bryan Cranston is set to reprise the character he portrayed back in 2007: Ted Mosby's hated boss Hammond Druthers.
Details on when or how Mr Cranston's character will appear in HIMYM Season 9 is still unknown, but the Enstars report claims that Ted Mosby could be seeing his boss in a flashback to the previous seasons. The Emmy award-winning actor portrayed Hammond Druthers in two episodes where his very much loathed character got demoted.
The Hollywood Reporter shares that Mr Cranston's guest appearance in the two episodes back in 2007 was filmed in the brief period between "Malcolm in the Middle" and "Breaking Bad" where he successfully portrayed the character Walter White.
Even though "Breaking Bad" will be airing its series finale on Sunday, September 29, Bryan Cranston still has other upcoming projects under his sleeve including this HIMYM Season 9 guest re-appearance and film works with "Godzilla" and "Cold Comes the Night."
There are other celebrity guest stars making a final return in "How I Met Your Mother" Season 9 aside from Bryan Cranston. Actor Wayne Brady already appeared in the series premiere where he portrays the role of Barney Stinson's brother, James.
John Lithgow is set as well to return as Barney's biological father, Jerry Whitaker, while "Karate Kid" actor William Zabka reprises his role in the final season for at least eight episodes after initially appearing in Season 8.
The entire "How I Met Your Mother" Season 9 will play over the course of Barney and Robin's wedding weekend with Ted Mosby finally meeting his future wife and 'The Mother' of his children. The rest of the gang has officially returned to the small screen and fans can watch out for the exciting events to come with "How I Met Your Mother" Season 9 airing every Monday at 8 p.m. on the CBS network.
