"How I Met Your Mother" Season 9 airs its series finale on Mar. 31. This week, the new episode is also the penultimate episode of the beloved CBS sitcom. Titled "The End of the Aisle," HIMYM fans are hoping there will be no more delays to the wedding ceremony. More answers to burning questions are also expected. In the promo video for How I Met Your Mother Season 9, Episode 22, it appears Robin Scherbatsky (Smulders) would have pulled a runaway bride's stunt, if not for the future Mrs Mosby (Milioti). This is how they met -- the story of how Mrs Mosby saved the Stinsons' marriage before it even began.

Note that in one of the How I Met Your Mother Season 9 flashbacks, the mother also gave Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) the push he needed to finally stop playing, and just win The One.

HIMYM co-creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas have done it: an entire season unfolding during the Scherbatsky-Stinson wedding weekend. HIMYM fans are used to the sitcom's flash forwards and flashbacks. But some of this farewell season's time jumps have been extra special.

The theory that one of the major characters will die in the HIMYM finale remain a hot topic among fans. One thing is certain: Bays and Thomas are comfortable tackling death and other tragedies in HIMYM. The death of Marshall's dad and the revelation that Robin cannot have kids are solid examples.

How I Met Your Mother Season 9 has been a treat to avid followers of the show's complicated timelines. Ted Mosby (Josh Radnor) proposes to the titular mother (Milioti). Mrs Mosby gives birth to their second child, Luke (David Henrie). Barney, Lily (Alyson Hannigan) and Marshall (Jason Segel) meet the mother. Lily and Marshall live in Rome for a while. Marvin Waitforit Eriksen goes to college.

In HIMYM Season 9, Episode 21, "Gary Blauman," Ted Mosby told his kids what happened to his ex-girlfriends, including The Captain's Zooey (Jennifer Morrison). This week, fans are hoping there will be more whatever-happened-to feature.

What is the next code red in the wedding? At which point does Barney make an attempt at fleeing to get a better tie?
