"How I Met Your Mother" Season 9 is not airing a new episode on the U.S. network CBS this Monday, Dec. 9. Episode 13, "Bass Player Wanted" airs on Dec. 16, and fans are expecting to see more of Cristin Milioti in this special mid-season finale. HIMYM is already on the second half of its final season.

When will Cristin Milioti re-appear in 'How I Met Your Mother' Season 9?

How I Met Your Mother co-creator Craig Thomas has hinted on Twitter that Cristin Milioti, who plays the titular mother, will be seen "a lot" in the next new HIMYM episode (9x13), airing Dec. 16.

Folks are asking if The Mother is in the next new #HIMYM. I could say "No spoilers." Or I could just say, "Yes. A LOT."

But HIMYM fans were already expecting Milioti to be in the next episode. The title has a strong reference to the mother's background. The future Mrs Mosby, after all, is a bass player. It has been suggested in previous episodes that she will be with the wedding band, and that is most probably how Ted Mosby would first meet her.

The mother and Ted Mosby have a lot in common. They look nerdy-awkward and cute together, and they tend to react the same way to certain things (e.g. the lighthouse). They like stopping at road landmarks no one really cares for. And they can both give moving, sentimental spiels to Barney Stinson.

So far the fans know how Cristin Milioti met Lily Aldrin (Alyson Hannigan) and Barney Stinson (Neil Patrick Harris). In the second half of How I Met Your Mother Season 9, she is expected to meet Robin Scherbatsky (Cobie Smulders) and Marshall Eriksen (Jason Segel). Pre-Season 9 spoilers revealed Ted Mosby is the last to meet the mother among the gang.

HIMYM fans have seen Mr and Mrs Mosby's proposal m, oment at the Farhampton Inn's lighthouse, as well as their "meeting anniversary," in which Milioti and Radnor proved their strong 'adorkable' chemistry.

Questions are not exactly dying down as to whether or not Barney's and Robin's wedding pushes through. The way Barney is showing the depth of his love for Robin, it seems no cancellation is going to happen. But then again, they both panic on D-day, as seen in previous episodes. It also doesn't help that the last time Robin was seen in her wedding dress, she's dancing with her father and Barney wasn't in sight.

How I Met Your Mother Season 9 returns on Dec. 16 with Episode 13, "Bass Player Wanted." This is the sitcom's last mid-season finale. The show returns on Jan. 13, 2014 with "Unpause," a word commonly used in the Lily-Marshall dynamic.
