‘How I Met Your Mother’ Star Cristin Milioti Calls The Dead Mother Theory ‘Insane’
The “How I Met Your Mother” dead mother theory is crazy, said The Mother herself. Cristin Milioti, who plays the eponymous mother, has something to say about the persistent theory of the U.S. sitcom’s ending, but didn’t actually disprove it.
The 28-year-old Broadway actress has been cast as the mysterious mother, whom Ted (Josh Radnor) had been searching for all but the last season of the show.
As the series is done in narration, it has been speculated that The Mother has died in the current 2030 year setting.

“That’s insane. No, I know. There are some crazy conspiracy theories, which make me really love the fans more because I’m like, ‘Wow, you guys are getting to the bottom of something.’ I don’t know, there’s such passion there,” she told The Hollywood Reporter of what she thought about the theory.
“That’s so crazy!” she continued, comparing the theory to the ending of the now-defunct TV series “Lost,” apparently insinuating that the people in that show were all dead the entire time.
Note: “Lost” ending was nothing like that!
Milioti didn’t deny the theory, though, so don’t completely discount it yet. And as the interview was conducted before the final day of filming, it is still possible that she didn’t know for sure if The Mother would indeed die at the finale.
When asked how she would describe the finale of the show, she simply said, “Beautiful.”
Milioti was also on Academy Award-winning film “The Wolf of Wall Street,” playing Leonardo DiCaprio’s first wife. But her role was apparently so minimal that it was overshadowed by the main stars, including Australian actress Margot Robbie, that no one recognises her from the film.
“I guess it’s because of the wig, I’m spray tanned, and it’s a different voice... I actually quite liked that.”
