‘How I Met Your Mother’ Star Gets Married, Life Imitates Fiction
"How I Met Your Mother" star Cobie Smulders married on Saturday SNL cast member Taran Killam after a 3-and-a-half year engagement.
Smulders, who also starred in the hit film Avengers, got engaged to Killam in January 2009. They now have a 3-year-old daughter, Shaelyn Cado.
It was reportedly a no-fuss wedding for the couple. They were wed within 15 minutes in a ceremony at the Alisal Guest Ranch and Resort in Solvang, California. They treated their 300 guests with good meals and a naturally aesthetic view at a nearby lake.
HIMYM co-stars Alyson Hannigan and Neil Patrick Harris were reportedly in attendance at the special event.
Spoiler Alert: Wedding, or no wedding?
Meanwhile, for Smulders' TV life as Robin Scherbatsky, a wedding is still "a little ways down the road." Viewers have seen both Barney (Harris) and Robin (Smulders) wearing their wedding outfits, but it was not clear whether that wedding would push through. In a spoiler photo released earlier, Barney is seen making an attempt to run away, while Lily (Hannigan) and Marshall (Jason Segel) desperately hold on to pull him back.
Answering questions on whether there will really be a Barney-Robin wedding, Smulders said: "Our show is very mysterious and we like to keep it that way - even for people who work on it!"
Smulders then admitted she has no idea what would happen next between the two characters.
"I don't really know. I think that they're intending to get married. I don't know what's going to happen," she said
How I Met Your Mother Season 8 may or may not be the comedy's final season. Negotiations among various parties are still ongoing at this point.
