Roger Federer or Fedex as he is fondly known among his ardent fans might have lost the finals of Wimbledon 2014 to Novak Djokovic but he won the hearts of the crowd at the stadium. It was not just ordinary tennis fans but even celebrities like the Prince and Duchess William and Catherine also rooted for Roger.
Djokovic might have understood the partisan crowd last year since he was playing against England's Andy Murray but this year he would have hoped for better support. Unfortunately for him, the crowd was on Federer's side. Fedex's big point wins were greeted with deafening cheers while the points he lost produced anguished sighs.
The whole crowd including celebrities like Kate Bekinsale, Kate Winslet, the Beckhams, Samuel L Jackson, Huge Jackman all ended up looking like they were born in Zurich. Switzerland and Roger Federer ruled the center court on 6 July 2014. But Federer did not disappoint his fans his game was a treasure from a true artiste.
