This explains why Selena Gomez was not seen walking the red carpet with Justin Bieber at 2011 Teen Choice Awards held at Gibson Amphitheater in Universal City, California on Sunday, August 7.

In the behind-the-scene-video of “We Own the Night” shown before her performance, Selena Gomez was seen biting a green apple and she had everything explained why a bite was all she wanted.

According to Just Jared, the video showcases the preparations made by the 19-year-old singer before her first performance at 2011 TCA.

“So I’ve been working all day, rehearsing and they have not given me any food. If you know me, you know I like junk food and all they gave me was this apple,” Selena was quoted as saying in the video by Just Jared.

Did she like the apple?

“So that’s what I’m eating. An Apple. And it doesn’t taste good,” she added.

The fun she had during her performance wasn’t enough. She took to Twitter thanking her supporters again.

“Really hope you are loving the #WeOwnTheNight videos. We have lots more coming soon! Thanks again for all you do for me :) Love you,” Selena tweeted.

The Disney star also sure owned the night for bagging big awards at this year’s TCA. She won three out of nine categories she was nominated for including Choice Music with her group, The Scene; Choice Music: Love Song for her “Love You Like a Love Song” and the major award for the Choice Female Hottie.

But the big moment everyone was waiting for was the drama to unfold between her and boyfriend, Justin Bieber. Days before the awards Sunday night, the teen couple had reportedly paused the button. And a kiss between the two has put the issue to rest. And hopefully, a long one.
