How to Upgrade ASUS Nexus 7 2013 Wi-Fi to Android 4.4.3 KTU84L KitKat Firmware
ASUS Nexus 7 2013 is now upgradable to Android 4.4.3 KitKat with build version KTU84L which can be installed manually. It will fix all known bugs, optimise the system and enhance overall performance.
KTU84L for Nexus 7 2013
It is the factory image from Google and also the official Android 4.4.3 KitKat firmware for Nexus 7 2013 Wi-Fi model. Compiled by Team Android, here are the steps on how to install the latest Android on your tablet.
Requirements:
1. Use the ASUS Nexus 7 2013 Wi-Fi only. The firmware for the GSM version is not yet available.
2. Create a manual backup of all files and settings on your tablet. The installation will wipe out everything.
3. Nexus 7 2013 should have a battery level of at least 50 per cent.
4. Enable USB debugging mode on your device and download the necessary USB drivers on your computer for Nexus 7 2013.
5. Setup the ADB and Fastboot with Android SDK on your computer.
6. Download the official factory image of Android 4.4.3 KitKat KTU84L for Nexus 7 2013 Wi-Fi model on your computer. It should appear as "razor-ktu84l-factory-afe3afc8.tgz".
Warning: We are not responsible for any issues that may occur on your ASUS Nexus 7 2013 Wi-Fi tablet. Download and install the necessary USB drivers and other files required to avoid installation issues. Do this at your own risk.
Flashing Instructions:
1. Connect your ASUS Nexus 7 2013 Wi-Fi to the computer using a USB cable.
2. Double check if the Fastboot has been properly configured for the tablet before proceeding.
3. Switch off the Nexus 7 tablet.
4. Reboot into Boot loader mode by pressing and holding the Volume Up and Power keys at the same time.
5. Go back to your computer and extract the downloaded firmware file to any location such as the desktop.
6. Open the "razor-ktu84l-factory-afe3afc8.tgz" folder then copy and paste all of its contents to the Fastboot directory. If configured properly, the Fastboot directory should be "platform-tools" folder inside the Android SDK directory.
7. Run the factory image file inside the Fastboot directory according to the OS running your machine.
a. Windows OS: Run the "flash-all.bat" file.
b. MAC OS: Run the "flash-all.sh" using the Terminal.
c. Linux OS: Run the "flash-all.sh" file.
8. Do not interrupt the installation and patiently wait till it is finished. If the boot loader is locked, you need to perform certain steps displayed on the screen of your tablet.
9. Once the installation has been completed, your Nexus 7 will restart and may take up to five minutes before reaching the home screen.
Well done! Your ASUS Nexus 7 2013 Wi-Fi is now running the latest Android 4.4.3 KTU84L KitKat firmware.
