As expected, SlimROM developers included the Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 international model to the current firmware build version 8 which runs Android 4.4.4 KitKat. Get the Privacy Guard, SlimPie, Slim Recent Apps and more from SlimROM Android 4.4.4 KitKat.

Requirements:

1. Use this custom firmware to the Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 international only.

2. Root the Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 and install a custom recovery such as ClockworkMod.

3. Manually backup all data files and personal settings on the smartphone.

4. Battery level should be at least 70 per cent to avoid power interruption during installation.

5. Enable the USB debugging mode on the Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300.

6. Download and install the necessary USB drivers on the computer for Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300.

7. Download the SlimROM Android 4.4.4 KitKat and the Slim Google Apps zip files on the computer.

Warning: We are not responsible for any errors which may occur on the Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300. Read and follow the instructions to avoid damaging the device. Do this at your own risk.

Flashing Instructions:

1. Connect the Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 smartphone to the computer using a USB cable.

2. Copy and paste the SlimROM and Slim Google Apps zip files to the microSD card of the smartphone. Do not extract any of the zip files.

3. Turn off the Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 smartphone and disconnect it from the computer.

4. Reboot into Recovery mode by pressing and holding the Volume Up, Home and Power keys at the same time.

5. In the Recovery mode, create a nAndroid backup for the current ROM by selecting "backup and restore > backup." Using the "restore" option will revert all changes and restore the device to the saved ROM.

6. Perform a full wipe on the smartphone by choosing "wipe data/factory reset" and "wipe cache partition" then select "advanced > wipe Dalvik cache."

7. Install the SlimROM by selecting "install zip from SD card > choose zip from SD card > select the SlimROM zip file downloaded earlier > confirm installation." Use the same method to install the Slim Google Apps zip file.

8. Once the installation has been completed, go back to the main menu and select "reboot system now."

9. The Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 will automatically reboot and may take up to five minutes before reaching the home screen.
