Market-leading IT company Hewlett-Packard (HP) announced Monday that it will be reorganizing its corporate structure to fit with the strategy shift it announced last March. Moving forward, HP is prioritizing three businesses -- hybrid cloud solutions, connected devices, and Management/Security/Analytics software -- and this executive shift is a reflection of that.

Priority 1: Customer-Facing businesses

Executive vice presidents from each of the three key areas will now report directly to HP CEO Leo Apotheker: Dave Donatelli represents enterprise servers, strorage and networking, Bill Veghte represents software, and Jan Zadak will represent solutions that integrate "full HP portfolio" for customers.

Priority 2: China and India

HP is prioritizing business in China and India, and will be opening "cross-business initiatives" in both of those markets to attempt to gain market share. Executive Vice President of the Personal Systems Group, Todd Bradley, will lead the efforts in China, and Executive Vice President of the Imaging and Printing Group, Vyomesh Joshi, will concentrate on India.

"Streamlining"

The role of Senior Vice President and Chief Administration Officer, filled by former Starbucks executive Pete Bocian, has been eliminated. That job oversaw shared and administrative services, including real estate and workplace services, indirect and services procurement, and HP Financial Services, the company's financing arm.

Randy Mott, Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer has also been eliminated, and the jobs of both Mott and Bocian will be handled by a single position. HP says it is currently looking for a person to fill that position. 29-year HP veteran Ann Livermore is also stepping down from her management position in HP's Enterprise Business and moving to a position on the board of directors.
