An increasing number of organisations are implementing workplace diversity and inclusion initiatives, largely driven by HR. At the simplest level, this might take the form of a policy supporting equal opportunity while in other organisations the diversity strategy might also include recruitment campaigns targeting specific groups, and internal communications and education campaigns that promote an inclusive culture.

One organisation taking workplace diversity in its stride is IBM. Belinda Reynolds, the Diversity and Workforce Lead for IBM Australia and New Zealand, leads a team responsible for the key areas of diversity, workforce strategy and learning and development. At IBM ANZ, diversity is an integral part of the workplace culture and value system. In creating a welcoming work environment, IBM positions itself as an employer of choice in the industry.

Hear Belinda Reynolds discuss IBM’s diversity strategy and meet other senior HR professionals at the upcoming HR Summit Brisbane to be held on 5-6 October 2011.

Following the success of the national and Melbourne events earlier this year, the ninth annual HR Summit Brisbane will bring together HR industry leaders to discuss strategies and skills to optimise people performance.
