HTC M7 Transitions to HTC One: New Alleged Press Shot Emerges
HTC's official site has commenced the countdown for its next flagship smartphone and to lend more hype to the upcoming unveiling of the HTC M7 or HTC One, a new image of the handset was leaked online.
Again, the picture was provided by prolific tech scooper @evleaks via Twitter showing off the white HTC smartphone in a redesigned profile, departing from the device pattern followed by the Taiwanese firm on its previous gadget offerings.
The alleged press shot also revealed, slightly, a metallic finish on the side of the former M7, closely resembling the signature build employed by Apple with the past three versions of iPhone.
The front interface presented the usual Android icons mixed with HTC's new Sense 5 rendition though a reconfiguration of the main phone controls below the screen was easily noticeable.
It appears that the new HTC One or HTC M7 has pushed the capacitive Home button farther right, its centre position now occupied by the company logo. The return key is now on the left side.
The new phone will also sport front stereo speakers, situated at the top and bottom portion, sandwiching its reported 4.7-inch 1080p screen.
Note that the image is not from HTC and what we would see come the expected Feb 19 preview of the HTC One could radically deviate from the renders that have been circulating lately.
Regardless, HTC is certainly bringing another smartphone that will likely flash the following specs: a 1.7GHz quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM, a 4.3 UltraPixel front cam, a Full HD screen and LTE connectivity.
The handset will stand on the latest JellyBean, reports said, but should be ready once Google has unleashed the long-awaited Key Lime Pie.
Analysts are closely watching if the HTC M7 or HTC One will be able to reverse the sliding fortunes of the Taiwan-based gadget maker following its string of revenue declines in the past quarters.
Its new push will signal if HTC will reclaim the Android leadership it lost to Samsung's Galaxy smartphones.
