HTC One 2 (M8) release date is set in March, according to reliable tipster @evleaks.

HTC's upcoming handset, also known HTC M8, will be launched in a separate launch event in March in New York. @evleaks gained credible reputation for leaking almost accurate data of upcoming devices.

Earlier, it was reported HTC One 2 will indeed hold a separate launching event in March skipping the rumored release date at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) set next month although HTC has not confirmed the concrete details about HTC One 2, especially the launch date.

During the patent trial of Nokia and HTC late last year, Nokia lawyer claimed HTC will launch "HTC One Two" in Q1 2014. HTC's lawyer did not deny this claim but did not provide additional information regarding the device.

The famous leaker in Twitter also hinted HTC One 2 will pack on-screen buttons replacing the physical and capacitive buttons seen in the previous HTC One. Some users were disappointed with the button configuration of the original HTC One. The previous year's HTC smartphone has no menu button and an HTC logo was placed. Moreover, other users found the layout of the buttons confusing.

But on-screen buttons will make HTC go back to its original three-button layout. What will change is the device's back button. The leaked photos of the device showed only three on-screen buttons: back button, home button and multi-tasking button. HTC One 2 release date will take place at the MWC later this month. There are rumors that HTC will finally hold its own event to introduce the successor of HTC One in March skipping the event.

HTC One 2 is expected to come with 5-inch full HD screen display, 2.3 quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor paired with 2GB RAM. The handset will come with 16 GB and 32 GB of internal storage but will also come with microSD slot for expandable storage. The new HTC smartphone will be supported by 2900 mAh battery. HTC One 2 will also pack the latest Android 4.4 KitKat OS and Sense 6 UI.
