HTC begins rolling out the Android 4.2.2 firmware update for the HTC One Dual SIM for several markets such as China, India and Russia. The official Android 4.2.2 firmware for the original HTC One is also coming out very soon.

HTC One Dual SIM with Android 4.2.2 Firmware

The new official update for HTC One Dual SIM has a software version of 2.17.1402.2 with size of 175.25MB. It includes the following enhancements to the smartphone:

- Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS

- Launcher Bar enhancement

- Widget panel rearrangement

- New Lock screen style: Widget

- Enhanced Home button behaviour

- Add New Home button options

- Battery level in Status bar

- Quick settings panel: 12 default settings with new touch gesture

- AE/AF lock feature: Lock Exposure/Focus

- New ZOE file format

- Six more themes for videos

- Music channel now with seek, fast/back forward functions

- Chinese dictionary input

How to Update your HTC One Dual SIM

The Android 4.2.2 official update for HTC One Dual SIM is currently available in China, India and Russia via Over-the-Air procedure. Go to "Settings > About Phone > Software Updates" and follow the instructions prompted.

Remember to create a backup of all your personal settings and data files on your phone then connect it to the AC power. Make sure to update your device using a Wi-Fi rather than 3G connection.

Original HTC One Android 4.2.2 Update

According to the ROM developer LlabTooFeR, the HTC One Android 4.2.2 update will be coming soon as well, but there is no specific release date. Some rumours expect that the update will be available before the end of July.
