HTC One release date will fall on March 15, according to reports anticipating the arrival of the latest HTC flagship smartphone. 'One' is expected to go on sale at AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile customers in the U.S. by mid-March. Reports suggest a one-calendar-date international release in several other countries.

HTC One vs Sony Xperia Z: HTC wins in Barcelona, to arrive in Australian carriers

HTC One was awarded the best mobile device showcased at the recently-concluded Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. It was a notch ahead of the Sony Xperia Z, which won the same award at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas earlier this year.

Australia will enjoy the HTC One across all carriers, according to PC World. Aussies will join the world in exploring the Taiwanese HTC's latest offerings, from Zoe to UltraPixel to Blinkfeed - three of the many factors that propelled the HTC One to MWC's 'best device' status.

Zoe presents to users a beautiful 3-sec video of their gallery. HTC One's camera has the "Zoe feature" that takes posterity shots to a creative new level. Users can choose how they want this video to be designed. This experience is further enhanced by the phone's Super LCD 3 screen (1920×1080p) display.

Blinkfeed is a quick organized view of all the important information you need from your social media channels and calendars. The feature itself has customization settings for further sorting and a quicker look.

Ultrapixel is being introduced by HTC One as a step-up in mobile photography. It is different from the megapixel in many ways, one of which is the light-capturing mechanism. Android Community avoids comparing the feature to other mobile cameras presumably because it's in a league of its own. The 2-ultrapixel camera (some reports suggest it is equivalent to 4MP, others say it is at par with a 13MP camera) can also capture 1080p HD videos and slow motion clips at 768 x 432 pixels.

HTC One Specs

HTC One will run on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean out of the box. A quick update to Android 4.2.2 is expected. The 'One' is previously known as HTC M7 or HTC M7 One. It is powered by a 1.7 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600, with 2 GB of RAM DDR2. Users can choose from storage variants of 32 GB and 64 GB. This new smartphone is a connectivity-competent phone with HSPA+ and NFC compatibilities. LTE-ready countries will also enjoy this phone.
