The current color choices for the HTC One are black and white but a red smart phone version recently appeared for a second time at the UK retailer Handtec web site. Phandroid came across the HTC One in red color on the Handtec web site listing with a price of £503.99 (US$783) despite the unavailability of the smart phone.

The precise release date has not been revealed on the web site. However, the second appearance of the red HTC One could be an indication that the new color choice is currently on the works or another mistaken image release.

When the HTC One was officially announced, the Taiwanese company placed the latest smart phone on their official web page. The web site showed all of the remarkable features and specifications of the HTC One like the 4.7-inch screen display, quad-core processor, UltraPixel camera and the HTC Sense 5 software.

The black and white HTC One versions were posted on the HTC web site as well as the red HTC One smart phone but it was immediately taken out afterwards. HTC shrugged off the listing as a mistake that one of the company's coders made.

Some device consumers and critics deem that the appearance of the red HTC One was not a mistake but another color option on the works with the availability coming very soon. Though HTC has been evading inquiries on the red HTC One making its release date appear hazy, the legitimacy of the new color choice remains solid.

HTC One in black and white color choices are currently available in the market with the black variant offered on Sprint. AT&T, another US network, has not yet acquired the black HTC One to offer their subscribers since there is still no confirmation on the smart phone's arrival date on the network.
