Hugh Grant Leaves 'Bridget Jones 3': Does Not Like The Changes In the Script
Despite the denials over the rumors that Hugh Grant has exited Bridget Jones 3 back in 2012, a new report claims that the actor has indeed, parted ways from the third installment of the movie. The actor, who has been attached for years to star in this third film in the Bridget Jones series, suddenly had a change of heart about doing it. Fortunately, his departure does not mean the movie will be scrapped. The movie project, will still continue on without him, Hugh Grant himself shared.
The third installment in the Bridget Jones series, entitled "Bridget Jones' Baby," has been in development for years. However, it suffered from a delay when Hugh was said to be reportedly unhappy with the script. At the time, allegations of the actor leaving the movie were all denied. It may or may have been untrue at the time, but Hugh finally came to his decision to leave the project this year.
According to the Guardian, in his interview with Free Radio, the actor confessed to leaving the movie project. "I decided not to do it," Grant shared. "But I think they're going to go ahead and do it without Daniel."
Grant's departure does not have anything to do with the book or how good it is. That's already a given, Grant says. According to the "Music and Lyrics" actor, "the book's excellent, by the way, but the script is completely different -- well, the script as I last saw it a few years ago."
His confirmation of the departure came only days after he described his co-star in "Bridget Jones," Renee Zellweger's kissing prowess. He claimed that Renee is a "top snogger." This, after he described Julia Roberts, another one of his co-stars in Notting Hill, as having a big mouth that he cannot kiss her without hearing a "faint echo."
The actor shared that he engaged in "competitive snogging" with Colin Firth, who played his love rival in both "Bridget Jones" and "Notting Hill." The actor quipped that Renee should be the one to judge on who is her preferred kisser.
