Hugh Jackman posted his image with a bandaged nose on Instagram and confirmed that he was suffering from skin cancer.

He informed that his wife insisted on him getting checked for a mark on his nose. After he had the necessary tests, it was confirmed that he was suffering from basal-cell carcinoma. He asked not to be foolish like him. Everyone should get checked and use sunscreen. The cancer was diagnosed at an early stage.

Basal-cell carcinoma, also known as BCC, is the most common form of cancer. However, it is extremely rare that a person dies due to this kind of cancer. On the other hand, it is responsible for significant disfigurement and destruction of the skin area as it invades surrounding tissues. Three Caucasians out of 10 in the U.S. have the possibility of developing a basal-cell carcinoma.

Jackman, 45, has relieved his fans by informing that the cancer cells were removed. The plaster on his nose, which was the apparently result of the operation, was seen earlier when he rode in New York, The Daily Mail reports.
