Australian actor Hugh Jackman is no longer alone in the cast of the upcoming movie thriller "Prisoners." Recent reports are now surfacing that actress Melissa Leo, who won an Academy Award for her brilliant performance in the David O.

Russell 2010 film "The Fighter," has signed on for the movie project which will be directed by Denis Villeneuve, a Canadian film director that made his mark in the 2010 mystery film "Incendies."

According to reports, the production will start early next year after Hugh Jackman is done with "The Wolverine" in Australia and Alcon Entertainment in association with Warner Bros. is said to be looking forward for a film release sometime in the fall of 2013. The script was written by Aaron Guzikowki who wrote the action film "Contraband" starring Mark Wahlberg.

The story of the vigilante thriller "Prisoners" revolves around a small-town carpenter named Keller, portrayed by Hugh Jackman, who finds out that his young daughter and her best friend has been kidnapped. After the cops fail to find his daughter, Keller then decided to take the law into his own hands.

Ever since she was nominated for an Oscar as an "Actress in a Leading Role" for her performance in the 2009 film "Frozen River," Melissa Leo has been very busy with work. The 52-year old actress just finished filming "Oblivion" opposite Tom Cruise and Morgan Freeman. Leo is currently working on "The Butler" and "Olympus Has Fallen." Her other projects also include starring in the upcoming drama "Flight" by Robert Zemeckis that stars Denzel Washington and it is scheduled for a release by Paramount Pictures on November 2.
