Hugh Jackman's "Wolverine" character has always been the famous one in the "X-Men" movie franchise. The recent statement of the Australian actor caught the attention of movie fans where he talked about his dream of seeing the X-Men characters sharing the big screen with the Avengers in the future.

"One of the great things about this movie is that a lot of people from Marvel are here and it seems a lot more inclusive than it has been in the past. I don't know what's happening behind the scenes but I think it's fantastic," the 44-year-old actor said to Screen Rant.

"I actually was just asked the other day and I said, 'I don't know what the legal situation is but why don't these companies come together? Why isn't it possible?' Because personally, I would love to mix it up with Robert Downey Jr. and Iron Man and kick his ass. It'd be great," Jackman further stated with a laugh.

There is really a dilemma for such collaboration to happen. Marvel Studios owns "The Avengers" while rival movie company, 20th Century Fox, owns the "X-Men" movie franchise.

The Inquisitr reported in the past about a conflict between the two movie studios on the character Quicksilver where controversy is rising and legal actions may even be taken. Quicksilver is being considered to be included in the upcoming movie project's cast for both film studios.

X-Men director Bryan Singer took to social networking site Twitter that before Quicksilver became an Avenger, he was just "a really fast kid" while Avengers director Joss Whedon, who wants to cast Quicksilver as well, stated that the fictional character was an Avenger in the comics during his childhood.

Hugh Jackman reprises his role as "The Wolverine" in the latest film franchise which is scheduled to be released at Australian theaters on July 25, 2013.
