A 46-year-old woman from California named Katherine Thurston who was accused of stalking Hugh Jackman in April 2013 is found fit for trial after being placed in a mental institution for six months.

The New York Daily News reported that the Manhattan Supreme Court Judge has ruled that Thurston is now suitable of helping her legal representative and understanding the arraignments of the high court after having undergone treatment at a mental institution.

In April 2013, Thurston confronted Jackman while he was working out in Gotham Gym in West Village, New York. Thurston was hysterically crying and screaming as she professed her love for the "X-Men" star. She even attacked Jackman with an electric razor allegedly filled with her own pubic hair, as reported by TMZ.

"I want to marry him," said Thurston according to NYPD Detective Frank Francisco. "This is not against the law, it is not against the law to have two wives," added the woman.

Fortunately, Jackman was not injured after the stalking incident. He said that the safety of his family is the most important thing. Actually, it wasn't the first time that Jackman came across the stalker. He said he had seen her before outside his home and his daughter's school.

Following the incident, Thurston faced criminal charge of fourth-degree stalking. She was placed in a mental institution for six months. On Wednesday, she appeared before a judge in the Manhattan Supreme Court, and that was when it was made known that Thurston was psychologically fit enough to face trial.

The judge set bail at $50,000. However, Thurston was given permission to post for bail at $25,000. The case has been postponed until February.

It is certainly creepy for celebrities to have stalkers following them everywhere they go. Just think about what happened to John Lennon. Thurston was carrying a razor when she attacked Jackman. The incident could have ended very tragically if she was carrying a knife, or worse, a gun.
