Hulk Hogan And Sting Talking Retirement Match For Wrestlemania 31 [VIDEO]
Wrestlemania is famous for bringing nostalgia to the event by featuring old school legendary wrestlers. It happened when Hulk Hogan was brought back to tussle with then ne blood Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. For the forthcoming iteration of the event, the wrestling world is buzzing over the possibility that a legend versus legend match between Sting and Hulk Hogan is being discussed by both camps.
According to the latest report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Hogan is keen on fighting one last time at Wrestlemania in what would be his retirement spectacle. His previous preference was to challenge John Cena in a bout pitting old versus new but the outfit has other plans for the leader of Cenation. In place of Cena, Vince McMahon and company is looking at Sting, another legendary wrestler.
Sting versus The Undertaker in Jeopardy
With the Undertaker still recuperating from a serious head injury, his availability is a slim possibility for any forthcoming major event. The original plan was to feature Sting and Taker head to head in Wrestlemania 31, but Taker succumbed to a concussion during the previous Wrestlemania match against Brock "The Beast Incarnate" Lesnar and had to be rushed to the hospital over serious head injury concerns.
While the Undertaker has been publicly seen in the past few weeks showing up in a marathon event in Texas and appearing in the sidelines of a collegiate football game, news are still unclear if he will be returning to the ring anytime soon despite pronouncement from his camp that he is willing to slug it out one last time.
This opens the possibility for Sting. The transferring wrestler has long said that his choice of opponent is either Taker or Triple H. WWE is lining up a Triple H and The Rock match at the same event thus; it is only plausible that the path of Sting will lead to the Hulkster. Hogan has been visible the past year in WWE with doing a great hosting job at Wrestlemania 30 and also helped in the launch of KENTA.
Due to these developments, we are looking to the following potential bouts in the forthcoming Wrestlemania 31 in March:
The Rock versus Triple H
Hulk Hogan versus Sting
John Cena versus Seth Rollins
Brock Lesnar versus Roman Reigns (heavyweight championship)
If this ever happens, this will be as nostalgic as this one:
