Suzanne Collins best-selling novels have hit Hollywood and with the growing success of the books and Gary Ross's directed film, everyone just seem to be hooked on "The Hunger Games."

Jennifer Lawrence may have embodied Katniss Everdeen as "The Girl on Fire" as with Josh Hutcherson as "The Boy with the Bread" but who were they even before the "Hunger Games" hype?

Starring as both District 12 tributes on film, Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson were born and raised in Kentucky. While Jennifer Lawrence started out in 2006 in a few small time movies on television, Josh Hutcherson was already bagging a small number of good roles in 2003 with "American Splendor" alongside Paul Giamatti and Chris Ambrose.

A few may also recognize Jennifer Lawrence from the commercial for MTVs television special "Sweet Sixteen." Josh Hutcherson, on the other hand, is easily recognizable as the charming boy who fell head over heels in love in the film, "Little Manhattan". The guy, who plays Gale Hawthorn, Liam Hemsworth, is surprisingly well-known as pop superstar singer, Miley Cyrus, boyfriend and her love interest in the film, "The Last Song".

Two other stars worth mentioning in the "Hunger Games" film are those actors who play Cato and Clove of District 2 namely Alexander Ludwig and Isabelle Fuhrman. Alexander is noted for his role in the 2007 film, "The Seeker: The Dark is Rising" Isabelle garners attention for her 2009 thriller film, "Orphan."

A few other notable characters in the "Hunger Games" that are worth looking back through would be the ever-supportive fashion consultant of Katniss Everdeen, Cinna played by rock star, Lenny Kravitz. Woody Harrelson who plays Haymitch Abernathy, the only victor of District 12 in the film has a few notable film roles apart from the drunken instructor on "Hunger Games" of which include, "Seven Pounds", "No Country for Old Men" and the most recent "Zombieland."

While Elizabeth Banks plays a colorful and perky, Effie Trinket on the "Hunger Games", she had a few other notable films in the past, plus the "Games" weren't the first time the actress had worked with director Gary Ross.

In 2003, Banks starred as Marcela Howard in Gary Ross's Oscar Nominated film, "Seabiscuit". Her notable role came in the 2010 film, "The Next Three Days" alongside Russell Crowe. Caesar Flickerman played by Stanley Tucci and President Snow portrayed by Donald Sutherland are also just a few actors that make up the "Hunger Games".
