'Hunger Games' Jennifer Lawrence Explains Her 'Emma Watson' Inspired Pixie Cut
Just a few weeks ago, Shailene Woodley of "Divergent" had debut her Emma Watson-inspired pixie cut. Now, "Hunger Games'" Jennifer Lawrence is the latest star to show off her extremely short haircut. With two more films to shoot for the "Hunger Games" series, why would Jennifer chop off her iconic blonde locks?
Emma Watson is certainly the fashion icon of a few stars - when it comes to hairstyle that is. Recently, Shailene Woodley had walked the red carpet with her Emma-inspired pixie cut. However, Shailene's drastic hair cut was all for her film, "The Fault in Our Stars" where she plays the part of Hazel Grace Lancaster.
Aside from Shailene Woodley, another star that had been inspired to chop her hair off is Jennifer Lawrence of the "Hunger Games." Lawrence's latest hairstyle obviously reminds fans of Emma's cut after the "Harry Potter" film series had end. For one, "Hunger Games" is far from ending given there are two other films to shoot. Why would Lawrence have her iconic locks chopped off then?
"I don't know, I cut it earlier, and it was just kind of like [shoulder-length] and it grew to that awkward, gross length, and I just kept putting it back in a bun, and I said, 'Well I don't want to do this,' so I just cut it off," said Jennifer Lawrence in a Yahoo interview with Marissa Mayer, adding, "It just couldn't get any uglier."
With "Mockingjay" set for production early next year, how then would Lawrence's hair be styled like Katniss' iconic brunette braid?
"This isn't how Katniss is going to look in the next movies," assured Jennifer, adding, "I'm actually wearing a wig (in the films)."
Fans will definitely see more of Jennifer's pixie cut with "Hunger Games: Catching Fire" set for the big screen on November 22. Jennifer Lawrence reprised her role as Katniss Everdeen, "The Girl on Fire" and Josh Hutcherson as Peeta Mellark, "The Boy with the Bread." Liam Hemsworth also reprises his role as Gale Hawthorn. New faces in the second film include Jena Malone as Johanna Mason and Sam Claflin as Finnick Odair.
