Liam Hemsworth had a great friend in Jennifer Lawrence as Gale Hawthorne had in Katniss Everdeen in the upcoming "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay -- Part 1." Being around "Jen" helped Liam get over Miley Cyrus, he said.

"The Hunger Games" star Liam Hemsworth may play the tough and enigmatic Gale in the movie, but he is not as infallible and strong in real life. He admitted that he needed friends in real life to get his life back on track after he and Mley Cyrus broke off their engagement. And by friends, he meant his co-star Jennifer Lawrence.

After breaking up with Miley Cyrus last fall, Liam said he's more comfortable in his own skin than he has ever been. While splitting up with Miley in late 2013 was a big blight in his life, the previous year was equally kind to him as he was able to travel around the world for various roles on big-budget movies as well as buy his own pad worth $6.8 million last August. He told Associated Press that he was in dire straights for a while where he forgot "to be in the moment" but his co-stars Jennifer Lawrence and Woody Harrelson helped him back on track.

He told AP that Jennifer reminded Hemsworth to just enjoy life. "Being around someone like Jen, who is so honest and laughs all day long, I am forced to be in the right now," he added. "I'm much happier."

Aside from his good friends, he fought chaos and negative media attention by reading a lot of Zen books, kickboxing and then doing a lot of surfing, which he labeled as his "escape." He said he grew up surfing, and kickboxing gives him the chance to beat out his inner turmoil.

While Liam is in a better place thanks to Jennifer Lawrence, it has recently been reported that Miley is still crushing on Liam. According to J-14 magazine, a source reportedly told OK! Magazine that the nieces and nephews of Liam adored "Auntie Miley" so much that Miley is using them to see more of Liam. The source even added that Liam thinks this is giving her false hope. Miley has not officially reacted to the news.
