Jennifer Lawrence was star struck upon meeting Lorde for the first time. The 24-year-old U.S. actress recalled the time the 18-year-old Kiwi songstress visited the set of “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1.”

Although relatively a newbie in the showbiz industry, Lorde was given the huge role of curator of the novel-based film’s soundtrack. Her contribution to the film allowed her to visit the set, and Lawrence recalled her reaction to the first time she met the Grammy winner.

“It was so cool, oh my god! The whole set freaked out, everyone stopped and it was like, ‘Be normal! Be normal! Be cool!’” Lawrence was quoted by Bang Showbiz as saying.

The Academy Award winner wasn’t only star struck by the younger star, but also impressed with her talent. Lorde recently released the music video for “Yellow Flicker Beat,” a song she wrote especially for the film. According to Lorde, it was her “attempt at getting inside [Katniss Everdeen’s] head,” which the actress who plays Katniss in the film thought was spot-on.

“Honestly, the first time I ever heard that Lorde song, ‘Yellow Flicker Beat,’ it just gave me goosebumps,” Lawrence said. “I mean, you read the book and internalise the character and go on set and have conversations with the director and your co-stars but it was so bizarre to hear a musical version of what, emotionally, I feel.”

And if Katniss were a real person living in today’s world, she would be a Lorde fan. “I think she really captured that character so magically that it was a really amazing thing to listen to, so I think Katniss would be a huge Lorde fan. And obviously Taylor Swift,” the actress thought.

It looks like Lorde has found another BFF in the industry. She is already friends with Swift, but the unassuming Kiwi girl has found another friend in Lawrence. The two have been photographed at the premiere laughing together. The media have been quick to note that the world is perhaps witnessing the start of a friendship between the two stars.

“The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1” also stars Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth. It will be released on November 20 in Australia.
