An unknowing Peeta Mellark can be seen standing still at The Capitol beside President Snow who is talking about "unity, prosperity and sacrifice" to the people of Panem in the new "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1" teaser trailer Lionsgate recently released.
Fans may be wondering what Josh Hutcherson (Peeta Mellark) is doing beside Donald Sutherland (President Snow) dressed in all white and looking like he has no trouble with whatever the president is saying. Peeta hasn't uttered a word and has showed no resistance in the newest "Mockingjay" trailer.
Spoiler Alert! The rest of this article contains information that may reveal the plot of "The Hunger Games" new installment. Continue reading at your own risk.
According to Suzanne Collin's "Mockingjay" book, Hutcherson's character has been brainwashed.
In the previous franchise installment, "The Hunger Games: Catching fire," Hutcherson's character, Peeta, was known to have been left behind at The Capitol as Jennifer Lawrence, playing Katniss Everdeen, had been rescued and brought to the mysterious District 13, which people of Panem knew had been completely dissolved, until later when there had been hints of battle and District 13 suddenly materialized.
It appears that District 13 still exists and the new franchise installment, "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1" apparently will show proof how the district managed to exist. Unfortunately, while Katniss stays in District 13, Peeta Mellark stays at The Capitol believing whatever President Snow says.
In the new trailer Lionsgate released on YouTube, Donald Sutherland, who is also dressed in all white same as Hutcherson, can be heard giving his haunting address to the people of Panem.
"If you resist the system, starve yourself," Sutherland aka President Snow can be heard saying in the trailer. It is a snippet of his Panem address called "Together as One."
There's no sign of Jennifer Lawrence in the new trailer as the main focus veers towards the president's address and the nervous feeling of what may happen to Hutcherson's character as he remains and continues to be brainwashed at The Capitol.
"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1" new teaser trailer appears to have given a strong hint of the upcoming battle between the people of Panem and The Capitol as the districts wake up to the realization of The Capitol's unforgiving rules.
The "resistance" that President Snow has mentioned in his address seems to have pointed straight towards Jennifer Lawrence's character, Katniss Everdeen. And though reluctant, Lawrence will become a symbol that "Hunger Games" trilogy author Suzanne Collins created to wake Panem with thoughts of rebellion.
"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1," starring Jennifer Lawrence with Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Julianne Moore, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Donald Sutherland, is reportedly set for a November 2014 release.
