'Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2': New promo video shows Katniss is still not tasked with fighting
The war against the President Snow will continue in “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2.” As the rebel army launches an attack on the Capitol, Katniss will not be a part of an army unit that will be involved in any of the actual fighting, a new video reveals. [Spoiler alert]
A new video released by the producers online shows a scene involving Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) and some of the other major characters in the movie. The video shows that Finnick (Sam Claflin), who fought alongside Katniss in the previous movie, will be joining the same army unit as the protagonist. Finnick can be seen carrying a spear, his preferred weapon during the games.
Boggs (Mahershala Ali) will be the head of Squad 451, which will include Katniss, Finnick, Gale (Liam Hemsworth), Cressida (Natalie Dormer) and others. Boggs explains n the video that their unit will not be involved in any combat and will be “days” behind the frontline units.
Cressida describes the unit as the “Star Squad,” who will only be seen in action on screen; for propaganda purposes. This suggests that Katniss will continue to focus on propaganda. at least in the beginning of “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2.” Gale, however, is eager to be a part of an actual battle.
Boggs shows that the Capitol is covered with many pods that contain traps that are meant to kill the rebels. A previous trailer video of the movie shows that the citizens of all 13 Districts will get a chance to march together into the Capitol. Katniss can be seen leading the people and also manoeuvring through the traps set by President Snow. Snow’s intention is to “make sport” of the deaths of the people who march on the Capitol and turn the final battle into another game.
“The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2” is the final instalment of the epic journey of Katniss Everdeen and the movie will feature the final war against the Capitol. Peeta (Josh Hutcherson), who was previously under Snow’s control, will now join hands with Katniss in the fight and he appears to have recovered from the mental torture he endured in the previous movie.
