While playing beautiful football and being consistent will be among the main objectives of Sydney FC head coach Frank Farina, amassing points on the table will still be the defining factor to their season in the Hyundai A-League as they face Brisbane Roar .

"It's nice if we can play some attractive football but first and foremost we have to get results. If we can get some consistency in our game it'll make the start last week worthwhile," Farina told footballaustralia.com.au.

"This game and this League are all about results but we also all love to play attractive football."

The Sky Blues came out strong in their opening match on Friday against the Newcastle Jets.

Veteran Allesandro del Pierro opened up scoring at the 36th minute, while Joel Chianese scored the assurance goal in the second half as they beat the Jets 2-0.

Visiting Brisbane Roar FC this coming Saturday will be a tough task for Farina's team, but they will be looking to capitalise on the momentum arising from their win.

"Brisbane has been a difficult trip for us, it's been 6 years since Sydney have won up there," Farina emphasised.

"I'm expecting a tough game. They're a very good side, they've been playing some really good football and they have some quality players."

"It'll be a difficult game and if we can get a something out of this game it'll be a huge confidence boost to everyone."

Meanwhile, the Roar is coming off a squeaker against Wellington Phoenix, Ivan Franjic scored at the 90th minute to steal a 2-1 win for Brisbane.

Franjic is thrilled to play Sydney on home soil and in front of an anticipated raucous crowd.

"Getting three points and then coming back to play Sydney in front of a big home crowd, we'll be looking to get another three points this weekend," said Franjic.

"It's Queensland against New South Wales. We're all excited and can't wait to get out there on Saturday night."
