'I Think We're Alone Now' trailer shows the pain of being alone
A teaser trailer of the upcoming film “I Think We’re Alone Now” has been released online. The video shows Peter Dinklage as Del, walking around in a town that used to be a home for more than 1,600 people.
The video [see below] shows Del walking around in an empty town. He is not the only living person in the town though. Elle Fanning’s character Grace isn’t seen in the video, but it’s her voice that can be heard asking Del questions like if he felt lonely.
The trailer doesn’t give away too much of the plot, but the scene appears to be a pivotal moment where Del meets someone, presumably after living alone for a long time. While the trailer does have a post-apocalyptic feel to it, it certainly is different from what the fans have seen before in this genre.
In a previous interview with Collider, Fanning described the movie as a story about two people. The movie is certainly set in a post-apocalyptic world, but the focus is more on the relationship between these two characters rather than the environment the plot is set in.
Fanning also added that the film is much more realistic. The fans will get to see how two strangers with different personalities deal with their own loneliness, instead of seeing a group of people fighting zombies, which is the theme of a typical post-apocalyptic film. The two characters eventually warm up to each other, and the movie will focus on this journey.
“I Think We’re Alone” has been directed by Reed Morano, who has previously directed TV shows like “The Handmaid’s Tale” and “Billions.” The other cast members of the upcoming film are Paul Giamatti (Patrick) and Charlotte Gainsbourg (Violet). The film is set to be released on Sept. 21 in the US.
