Ex-couple Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev recently interacted with each other on the social networking site Twitter over a shared Instagram photo after months of silence. As the two looked cozy in the photo with Vampire Diaries co-star Paul Wesley, the status of their relationship is once again under scrutiny if they have rekindled their romance or remain just good friends.

The heartthrob actor shared the captured image on his Twitter account @iansomerhalder with the caption that reads: "The trio-Stefan,Elena,Damon." Nina Dobrev re-tweeted the image which only confirms that everything is fine and she is still in good terms with Ian despite the split with insiders maintaining that Ian and Nina's breakup will not affect the TV show "The Vampire Diaries."

The shared cozy image comes from a photo shoot that took place in Los Angeles on Sunday, July 28, where the Vampire Diaries cast members gathered together. The CW Television Network continues to thrill the thousands of devoted Vampire Diaries fans with the shared behind-the-scenes photographs on Instagram from the cast's latest photo shoot.

Ian Somerhalder took a break from the Atlanta filming set of the Vampire Diaries Season 5 and headed to Los Angeles, California last July 27 for the photo shoot. The 34-year-old actor was even spotted at the LAX Airport with co-star and good friend Paul Wesley as well as the TV show's executive producer Julie Plec.

Despite his very hectic schedule, Ian still looked handsome, fresh-faced and stylish as ever while sporting a trilby hat, jeans, t-shirt, sunglasses with headphones placed on his neck. Ian's brief visit to Los Angeles happened on the same day where Vampire Diaries co-star and ex-girlfriend Nina Dobrev received and honorary award for her charity work at the 2013 Variety's Power of You event.
