Fans of Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev hope that the "Vampire Diaries" stars will be spending their Christmas together. But it seems the two will be celebrating the holidays apart from each other. The ex-couple shared to their Twitter followers what they are up to during the holiday season.

Somerhalder, 35, urged his fans to share the spirit of Christmas by helping the charity organizations he plays an important part with. The heartthrob actor posted on his Twitter account @iansomerhalder: "Who wants a Macbook Air? Donate at least $19 to my Holiday Challenge page on @CrowdRise & u could win a MacBook Air. http://bit.ly/1aG7g9m."

Dobrev, on the other hand, shared that she visited the White House with her mother, Michaela Constantine, to meet up with First Lady Michelle Obama in Washington. The 24-year-old actress got invited to a party at the White House after her nude ad for Obama Care.

She posted on her Twitter account @ninadobrev with an image attached: "Took my mom to the WhiteHouse last week where we saw @FLOTUS. We all agree every1 should #GetCovered #YourMomCares."

The Canadian-Bulgarian actress showed her support for the Obama Care program when she posed with only a cardboard sign covering her with the hashtag #Getcovered written.

"Im Canadian. We have healthcare for all. If you dont have insurance go to http://say.ly/cdi6TN2 and #GetCovered ,Because w/o it, you're naked," Dobrev previously tweeted. She shared a picture of herself looking at the portrait of George Washington.

"The woman that made me. And the man that made history #whitehousechristmas," the "Vampire Diaries" star wrote as a caption to the image, according to the Classicalite report. Moreover, it looks like Dobrev will be spending Christmas with her celebrity BFF Julianne Hough as the two shared images of themselves having fun while decorating a Christmas tree.

However, the Celeb Dirty Laundry report claimed the ex-couple will find time to greet and spend Christmas with each other. The report read: "Whatever Ian and Nina now share is most certainly going to remain private but from what we're hearing, they will be making time for each other this Christmas holiday season."
